Sunday, December 20th at approximately 11:00 AM, the SWFD responded mutual aid to the Town of Vernon for a 2nd alarm of fire on Union Street in the Rockville section. Engine 6, Tower 1, Car 15, and Car 10 responded with 14 members.
This photo was taken by a member of the Union Congregational Church (next door) prior to FD arrival.
Several rescues were made. No life-threatening injuries. Great job by the Town of Vernon Fire Department as well as all the mutual aid Departments.
South Windsor is thankful for the mutual aid relationships we have with our surrounding communities.

December 18, 2020 - approximately 2:00 PM
SWFD, South Windsor Police Department and Ambulance Service of Manchester just cleared a two-car motor vehicle accident in the intersection of Buckland Road and Tamarack Avenue (southernmost entrance to Evergreen Walk).
The driver of one vehicle sustained minor injuries and required extrication due to impact from the second vehicle.
The intersection is now open in all directions.

Sunday, December 6 at 6:15pm
Elllington Road (Rt. 30) between Felt Road and 4 corners. 2 car motor vehicle crash with multi patients with NON life-threatening injuries. Road is closed for a short time.
