Motor Vehicle Accident 5/26/2020 Buckland Rd.

SWFD and SWPD on scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a box truck and suv. No injuries. Buckland Road and Deming Street. Roadway limited, but open. PLEASE use caution in the area.

SWFD assisting the Town of Vernon Fire Department at scene of a house fire on Thrall Rd in Vernon. SWFD supported with a crew from E6 and Cars 10/19.

High Angle Rope Rescue 5/24/2020

Sunday May 24, 2020

South Windsor Fire Department is operating in the 200 block of Governors Highway for a high-angle rope rescue. One patient is stuck in a tree on a ropes course with a dislocated extremity. Engine 4, Engine 3, Rescue 5, Car 19, and Car 14 are on scene.
*UPDATE - 3:30 PM: the patient has been safely lowered to the ground and is being evaluated by EMS. Companies are picking up.

Dumpster Compactor Fire 5/23/2020

Saturday, May 23, 2020 @ 0120 hours
SWFD on scene at FedEx Distribution Center, 40 Kennedy Road for a dumpster/compactor fire. South Windsor Police Department arrived first and disconnected power to unit and confirmed no extension into building. Incident Commander (Car 15) used two Engines for fire attack and water supply and the Rescue with cable/winch to pull dumpster away from compactor.
The cause and origin investigation conducted by the South Windsor Fire Marshal's Office.
Truck traffic halted for a short time while members operated in busy distribution lot. No injuries.

Vehicle Fire At Home 5/19/2020

Tuesday, May 19, 2020 just after 6:00pm.

SWFD was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 200 block of Farnham Road. The SW 9-1-1 center received numerous calls reporting the vehicle was well-involved and possibly extending to a home. The Incident Commander, Car 19, arrived and declared a working fire. Crews from E8, E6, and R5 quickly had water on the fire, limiting the damage to the home to just cosmetic, as some of the vinyl siding melted.

No injuries. The South Windsor Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin.

No damage to the car in the garage nor the interior of the home
