The 2013 FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR was awarded to Micheal Milliken.

FFOY 2013 1During the Annual Dinner, the Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Mike Milliken. Mike joined the Department in November 2010 and is assigned to Company Two. He is a member of the Rescue Squad and was instrumental in coordinating many of the events for the Department's 75th Anniversary celebration in 2013. Each year the Firefighter of the Year is selected by a unanimous decision of the company officers.

The 2012 FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR was awarded to Jeffery Futtner.

During the Annual Dinner, the Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Jeff Futtner. Jeff joined the Department in May 2007 and is assigned to Company Two. He is a member of the Rescue Squad and has taken the lead in organizing the Department's participation in South Windsor High School's annual "Broken Dreams" program. Each year the Firefighter of the Year is selected by a unanimous decision of the company officers.

The 2011 FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR was awarded to Donald Marchesseault.

During the Annual Dinner, the Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Firefighter Don Marchesseault. Don joined the Explorer Post at age 14, and has served as a firefighter for seventeen years. An active member of Company 3, Don is a member of the Rescue Squad, a Commander of the Honor Guard, the Department web master, and Treasurer and Vice Chairman of the 75th Anniversary Committee. He also served as the Department's President in 2010. Each year the Firefighter of the Year is selected by a unanimous decision of the company officers.

The 2010 FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR was awarded to Thomas Pederzoli III.

On February 9, 2011, during the Department's Annual Dinner, the 2010 Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Firefighter Tom Pederzoli. Tom first joined the Department in 1993, and served as a member of Company 1 until 1999. In 2007, Tom rejoined the Department as an active member of Company 3. He has served as the Department's Secretary for the past several years, and as an Advisor to Company 5, the Department's Explorer Post. Tom is also a member of the Department's Safety Committee and Fundraising Chairman for the Department's 75th Anniversary Committee. He assists with the Safety House during fire prevention programs at the elementary schools. Each year the Firefighter of the Year is selected by a unanimous decision of the company officers.

The 2009 FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR was awarded to Robin Pendleton.

2010 2 2 Pendelton

During the Department's Annual Dinner, held on February 2, 2010, the 2009 Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Firefighter Robin "Packi" Pendelton. Packi has been an active member of Company 1 for the past 16 years and also serves as a valued member of the Department's Rescue Squad. Packi is also a member of the Connecticut Statewide Honor Guard and the Department's Honor Guard. He has coordinated many of the Department's torchlight parades and assists with the Safety House during fire prevention programs at the elementary schools. Each year the Firefighter of the Year is selected by a unanimous decision of the company officers.

The 2008 FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR was awarded to Paul Soderburg.

During the Department's Annual Dinner, held on February 3, 2009, Lieutenant Steve Toffolon presented the 2008 Firefighter of the Year Award to Firefighter Paul Soderburg. Paul has been a firefighter assigned to Company 2 for over 13 years. In addition to his service as a firefighter, Paul has contributed over one hundred hours working on the committee that designed and inspected Tower 1, and training his fellow firefighters on how to operate the Tower. He is currently serving on the committee designing the new Engine 3. Paul has spent countless hours designing, fabricating and installing shelves and decals for the Department's fire apparatus and is always willing to assist. Paul has been a valued member of the Department's Rescue Squad for many years. Each year the Firefighter of the Year is selected by a unanimous decision of the six company lieutenants.
