Car Fire on I291 on 8/24/2021

Tuesday, August 24 at approximately 9:15 AM
*Car Fire and multiple other calls*
This morning at approximately 9:15 AM the SWFD responded to a car fire in the northbound lanes of Route 5, north of Sullivan Avenue. Engines 2, 3, and 4 responded.
While operating at the car fire, three separate commercial fire alarms came in within a minute of each other, all in different areas of town. Engines 2 and 4 were released and responded to two of the alarms respectively, and Manchester Fire Department 8th District responded mutual aid to the third. Employees reported the odor of smoke in the building at one of the fire alarms, and Engine 4 added Broad Brook Fire Department to that assignment. All ended up being false alarms.
