Rescue Car vs Telephone Pole on 2/22/2023

TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
Griffin Road between Graham Road and Brookfield Street is closed due to a single car motor vehicle accident into a telephone pole. Please seek an alternate route.

Rescue MVA Extrication on Oakland on 2/18/2023

SWFD, South Windsor Police Department, and Ambulance Service of Manchester on scene of a two vehicle crash on Oakland Road between Felt Road and Foster Street.
Extrication was required to remove the driver of a pick-up truck. Non life-threatening injuries.
Oakland Road is closed.

Brush Fire on 12/14/2023

SWFD is out on Clark Street near Deming Street with an approximately 25’x25’ brush fire involving a large pile of brush.
The forest fire danger level today is HIGH across the whole state!

Rescue MVA Rt5 and Pleasant Valley on 2/8/2023

SWFD, South Windsor Police Department, and Ambulance Service of Manchester at scene of a two car motor vehicle crash. Rt 5 and Pleasant Valley Road. Minor injuries. Rt 5 remained opened. Pleasant Valley between Rt 5 and Nutmeg Road North blocked for a short time.

Fire on Mountain View on 2/5/2023

Just after 2pm the SWFD was dispatched to a reported house fire on Mountain View Road.
Two Deputy Chiefs arrived with in a few minutes and reported a fire in a bedroom. All occupants had exited, but reported a dog was still inside.
Engine 3 and Engine6 crews arrived and quickly extinguished the fire and located the dog in a closet. The dog was brought out to one of its owners and appeared to be ok.
Another occupant was evaluated for smoke inhalation. No other injuries.
Mutual companies provided both RIT - Rapid Intervention Team and jurisdictional coverage.
Fire is under investigation by the South Windsor Fire Marshal's Office.
