National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Weekend 2022

October 7 at 11:39 PM
As the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Weekend starts, Honor Guard members post the Fire Hero Family Flag. This special American Flag, dedicated to the families of firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, remains posted throughout the weekend, and Honor Guard members from across the nation stand guard 24/7. Proud to see our own South Windsor FIRE Department Honor Guard Commander serving in this honor.
Thanks Don Marchesseault. Hand Salute!

National Honor Guard Academy on 8/12/2022

Today, after a week long National Honor Guard Academy course, our very own SWFD Honor Guard Commander Graduated. Congratulations Don!
The class was hosted by the Connecticut Fire Academy with over 50 students from 18 different public safety agencies from 8 states. Congratulations to all.
Commander Marchesseault is the sixth member of the SWFD to attend an Honor Guard Academy - Robin Pendleton, Kevin Cooney, Deb Burch, Tia Cortese, and Greg Roberts.
Chief Cooney was honored to be the Key Note Speaker at Graduation and to Congratulate Commander Marchesseault.
