Drill Night – 11/26/19
For the past three weeks, metal cutting has been a company-level drill. Tonight, Company 3 had this rotation and worked on several different evolutions.
Stations were set up for ring cutting, glass cutting, auger/machine entrapment, impalement, and carriage bolt cutting for forcible entry. While our Rescue Squad trains extensively on machinery rescue, familiarizing the remainder of the department with these tasks ensures real emergencies run smoothly.
SWFD will be hosting a 16-hour machinery rescue class taught by Take The Door Training in the end of March. Spots will be open for members from outside departments to sign up; check for the link to sign up on our page.
