Saturday, December 7th, 2024Just before noon, SWFD, South Windsor Police Department, and Ambulance Service of Manchester responded to a two vehicle crash in the 600 block of Ellington Road. Very minor non-life threatening injuries. Roadway down to one lane alternating traffic.

11/24/2024 This morning, members of the Department’s Rescue Squad conducted training to enhance their technical rescue skills and review of elevator emergencies. The Rescue Squad is select members from each of the three Firefighting Companies that dedicate time for additional training and expertise.
Vehicle Fire on 291 on 9/14/2024

Saturday, September 14th just before 9:30pm. SWFD responded to I-291 e/b between exits 4 & 5 for a vehicle (suv) fire. Squad 2 crew knocked down the fire quickly, supported by Engine 3 and FP9 for blocking with Car 10. The operator (only occupant) exited immediately after pulling over, uninjured.
